Celebrating our slow fashion ethos, Nora is an ode to the art of handmade. Beginning with four wood blocks intricately hand-carved to create two traditional jaal and buti floral designs, skilled artisans then use the blocks to slowly and carefully hand print delicate pink hues upon the softest cotton voile. Tiers of printed fabric have then been gracefully layered and finished with mother-of-pearl buttons from bodice to base, forming this free flowing feminine style lovingly hand-crafted by a small group of women in Jaipur, India.

*Please note due to this style's production process taking several months to create, each Nora maxi dress is completely unique and one-of-a-kind and is only available in extremely limited quantities. Colour variations may occur due to the handmade nature of this garment.*

Material ~ 100% Cotton. This style features an underlining, covering the bodice to the base of the second last tier on the maxi length skirt.

Garment Care ~ We recommend a gentle, cold water hand wash using natural detergents, and hang drying in the shade. Handcrafted garments are delicate, however, designed to last when treated mindfully with love and care.

Long time looking at the dress that I wanted

For a very long time I had been wanting this beautiful dress then while on vacation in Fiji, I saw a lady with it on. Naturally I told her I knew that her dress was from Daughters of India. She laughed and couldn't believe that I knew where it was from. I told her that I had been wanting to get the dress for many months. She said that she was the same then told me just to get the dress!! So I did - and I love it. The fabric is lovely and soft, the design flows so beautifully and I feel so elegant in it. If you've been considering getting the dress...get the dress!! You won't regret it!

The most beautiful and comfortable dress

I love my Nora maxi dress in the primrose. I receive compliments every time I wear it and always get asked where I got it from so I tell them and explain the ethical side of your business. I hope they go and purchase from you as well. The dress is so light, soft and comfortable. I am an Australian size 14 usually and got the Large which fits well. I could have sized down but the dress is such that it is floaty and comfy being a bit oversized. Cannot recommend highly enough. I’m waiting for the aquamarine Nora maxi to get restocked and I will be purchasing again.
